EP. 025 Does It Have to be Lonely at the Top?

Episode 25:
Does It Have to be Lonely at the Top?

We’ve all been thinking a lot about our own solitary way of being lately because we’ve, quite simply, just had more time to spend in our own company. And for people who are very successful in their chosen careers, like many of our clients, that can be paradoxically very isolating.

Can you relate to this?

Ironically, you are not alone in feeling isolated, so in this episode, I’m going to help you fight loneliness with some scientific insights and advice including:

• In a recent survey, nearly half of US adults reported feeling that they are always, or mostly always alone.

• When you’re looking to make a new connection, remember, that not everyone is interested in making new friends, and that’s okay so quickly move on to someone who is interested.

• Create strong connections by finding common ground.

Good relationships are about authenticity and trust. So if you’re feeling lonely, remember the next person you meet may be feeling exactly the same.

Here are the highlights from this episode:

{2:09} You are not alone.

{3:56} Loneliness can impact your health.

{6:02} Not everyone wants to be your friend, and that’s okay.
