How to Avoid Distraction and Actually Be Productive

Do you ever find yourself unable to focus on just one task at a time? Do you ever get distracted and jump from one task to another before completing the first one?

This happens to the best of us, which is why this is a great goal to set or even make into a New Year’s resolution in 2019.

Here are my top tips to avoid distraction with the intention to increase effectiveness, efficiency and save time.

  1. To avoid skipping from one task to the next, have the deliberate intention to focus on that one thing and nothing else in that moment. Try setting a timer for 15 mins, during which your attention is going to be solely devoted to that one task.
  2. Put your phone out of reach to avoid distraction.
  3. Don’t have your email constantly open and close irrelevant internet tabs to avoid distraction.

It’s been proven that multitasking can slow us down. So focus on one thing at a time and be more mindful and 100% present with each task.

Be mindful of doing one thing at a time. Try to be 100% present at every moment.
